My personal pick to experience the taste of Las Cruces and the Southwest . Nellie's is a small hole in the establishment, not much to look at. Once inside it is very small and usually full. The food is the reason to come here, it is the best mexican food aside from Grandma's. I recommend all dishes but my favorite is the Banado plate. (505) 524-9982 |
Nellie's second restraunt, not as good as orginal but still very good. Try the fajitas, they don't make them at the orginal Nellie's. They also serve beer and wine at this location. (505) 523-9911 |
Owners started out as a street vendor and now own two restraunts. Meals are very good at both locations and they have a great breakfast special. 603 Nevarez (505) 523-1778 Los Compas Cafe # 2 8111 N. Main St. (hwy 70) (505)382-2025 |
Roberto's was voted as one of the Southwest best restraunts. It is a very good place to get food. They offer dine in or take out. They also offer pakaged food so you can put the food in the freezer and enjoy later, try the tamales, rolled tacos with cheese, and the burritos. You can't go wrong. (505) 523-1851 |
A small place were you can eat-in or take out. I gained 15 pounds in college ordering breakfast burritos from here, very goood and filling. (505)526-8604 |
A famous restaurant in the heart of Mesilla. Recommended by Life Magazine. Many consider La Posta the best Las Cruces has to offer, it is very good but if you want real Las Cruces go to Nellie's Cafe. (505) 524-3524 |
A hidden secret on the outer limits of Las Cruces. A really good place to eat mexican food, it revials Nellie's in every aspect. Chope's is a small bar that opened a cafe. It is a must when in Las Cruces, plan on sitting at the bar while you wait for your table. When you order a beer with your meal expect on getting a 40 oz bottle. Also try Serrano's across the street, it is also very good. (505)233-3420 |
A very nice restaurant located in Mesilla, also has a bar next door. In summers you can sit out side in the patio and enjoy some fine margarita's. (505) 524-0982 |
